Close to 25,000 Lost Power in Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Storms
Approximately twenty-five thousand households in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the area, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Impact
Residents witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that multiple regions across Queensland had been impacted by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, around one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area experienced its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 emergency reports across the state, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Humid circumstances were predicted to continue along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was predicted as the most rainy day, with persistent thunderstorm potential anticipated across different parts of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
